The 13th annual International Mobile Film Festival celebrates the creativity and art of filmmaking with smartphone cameras. Founded in 2009, IMFF is the world’s first live event film festival dedicated to mobile phone movie making! Get inspired by amazing films shot with smartphones and make your own movie.
Immerse yourself in a world of creative art, watch award-winning films, network with the filmmakers, and create a masterpiece of your own! Unleash your inner director and join us at IMFF in our beautiful San Diego venue by the bay.

SCHEDULE
FRIDAY, APRIL 26: Kick Off Meet and Greet
We kick off the festival with a meet and greet Friday, April 26 at 4PM at the Aquarius Bar and Grille by the bay. Filmmakers RSVP. Food not served after 8pm. Meet attending filmmakers!

SATURDAY, April 27: DAY ONE
10:00AM – 11:00AM: Welcome! Opening remarks and greetings.
11:00AM – 1:00PM: Introduction by filmmaker Sohibanoo Zolghadr, Feature Film “A Long Afternoon” followed by Q&A in person. Please silence your cameras/smartphones.
1:00PM – 1:30PM: Break for Snacks and Mingling.
1:30PM – 3:00PM: First session Short Films Competition. Attending filmmakers will come up and take a bow and name their films, prior to the films showcase. Please silence your cameras/smartphones.
3:00PM – 4:00PM: Break for Lunch and Mingling. There are restaurants at the venue.
4:00PM – 5:30PM: Second Session Short Films. Includes Freaky Films at the end with notice. Please silence your cameras/smartphones.
5:30PM – 5:45PM: Smartphone Photos Showcase Presentation with attending photographer, Vincenzo De Sio, from New York.
5:45PM – 6:30PM: Break for Snacks and Mingling.
6:30PM – 7PM: Rookie Films Short Session with Short 15 minute Q&A with three attending Rookie filmmakers. Please silence your cameras/smartphones.
7:00PM – 9:00PM: Introduction by filmmaker Ian Courtney, Feature Film “Movie Theater Massacre” followed by Q&A with filmmaker in person. Please silence your cameras/smartphones.
END DAY ONE
SUNDAY, APRIL 28: LAST DAY
12:00PM – 12:30PM: Welcome to the last day! Briefing and special last day opening.
12:30PM – 2:00PM: Q & A Panel All Short and Feature Filmmakers (not Rookies)
2:00PM – 2:30PM: Break for Snacks and Mingling.
2:30PM – 4:00PM: Mobile Filmmaking Workshop: Smartphone Live Action Filmmaking Workshop with Art School Dropouts founders Joey Min and Stephanie Pham. Bonus: “No Budget Zorro” action short film shot with iPhone.

4:00PM – 5:00PM: Break for Snacks and Mingling.

8:00PM – 9:30PM: Awards Ceremony, end remarks to the 13th Edition of International Mobile Film Festival in San Diego! Thank you to the judges!
END LAST DAY
Note: Participants attending the festival on all days may be asked to speak to attendees publicly, throughout the event depending on time and circumstances. We encourage engagement.
Some sessions and times are subject to change depending on unavoidable circumstances.
Tips for attendees and participants: Bring promotional cards to set on our “collaborators table.” We allow ample time for filmmakers and attendees to connect. Meet the attending filmmakers!
