Global Mobile Film Alliance
We are currently working with our network from our global film community, sponsors and others, building a global Alliance to align IMFF 2027 into our vision of a community based film festival to support human storytelling and filmmaking.
Launched in the Spring 2009, the International Mobile Film Festival, founded by Susy Botello in San Diego, California, began as a unique vision from September 11, 2001 where cinema screens would present films shot with cameras that would make their way into cell phones. It has continued its mission through 15 consecutive annual editions since.
Stemming from the intimacy that the in-person film festival provided an international community of independent filmmakers, the festival is embarking on its new chapter.
Stay tuned, as we bring additional members to the alliance, and realize this vision for IMFF 2027.

Susy Botello | Smartphone Film Industry Pioneer Film Festival Founder, Advocate & Podcaster inspiring storytellers globally.
Susy is currently in Seville, Spain.
“What began as a challenge to filmmakers to realize my vision in 2001, turned into a unique annual international event in San Diego.
Growing up in Spain, Italy, and the United States, an appreciation for the power of storytelling grew with me. While I worked with independent filmmakers, and in video production, I fell in love with the people who make films, and the artistic process of turning stories into films.”
The IMFF is exclusive to only smartphone cameras, and inclusive to all humans around the world. No A.I.
