Community Special

October is a big month for S. Botello Productions™ (SBP)!

October 19th is the first regular deadline to submit your 60 to 120 minute film to the International Mobile Film Festival’s feature film competition and save over the extended deadline submission fee.

October also marks the seventh anniversary for the SBP Podcast Mobile Filmmaking: The voice of mobile film™.

BONUS! October 1st is the day we drop our 200th episode!

Our 200th episode is a unique special show hosted by Susy Botello with two special guests: Aaron Nabus and Dhwani Shah.

Aaron is the co-host of the Hall H Show podcast and a brand ambassador to the International Mobile Film Festival. As part of the team at SBP, Aaron has been promoting and supporting IMFF since 2016, after discovering our film festival through festival founder and podcast host Susy Botello presenting a mobile filmmaking panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2016.

In 2018, Aaron joined us as a frequent collaborator and brand ambassador.

His connection to the SBP Podcast goes back to when he invited Susy to meet him in person as one of the early guests for their new Hall H Show podcast. She met with Aaron and his co-host Alex Benedicto, Novemeber 10, 2016.

Soon thereafter, they collaborated on the 2017 International Mobile Film Festival (IMFF) where Aaron and Alex interviewed contestants on the red carpet, for their podcast.

Dhwani Shaw is an award-winning filmmaker who lives and works in New York. She decided to shoot a short film with her iPhone. Her film, “Sapling” won the best short film with the First Prize at the IMFF 2024. She attended the festival with her team and was a guest on the show in episode 192.

We look forward to a special episode commemorating and celebrating this milestone with our podcast. We have fun sessions and stories to share in this special show.

While many podcasts build a community around their podcast, the SBP Podcast Mobile Filmmaking was created with an established mobile filmmaking community, built by the IMFF, in mind.

IMFF has always been a platform open to all humans of all ages regardless of income, race or ethnicity, age, and/or education to share stories through film and for many, to realize their dream to make movies.

200 episodes reflects how many times we’ve said “Yes, you can make movies with your smartphone!” to our listeners both in the U.S. and around the world.

Our podcast is the most established, long lasting podcast exclusive to the mobile filmmaking industry. We are grateful to all our listeners and our guests since we launched in October 2017.

The podcast is a free labor of love and passion from Susy Botello. Susy is passionate about spreading the message of the mobile smartphone film community worldwide.
