Great news!

We are going back to Comic-Con International in San Diego to present Mobile Filmmaking. This is our fourth year and we are really excited to go back again this year. Last year’s presentation was incredible. Full room with very enthusiastic attendees, much fun and interaction. You must have a badge to attend. Join us on the Facebook Event to stay up-to-date. Please note the location and time of our presentation on Saturday, July 20.

We will also be around the convention talking to people, promoting mobile filmmaking with smartphones, shooting B roll and interviewing people. The best thing about comic-con is that the convention is attended by over 130,000 people from all over the world. These are really cool people who are open to mobile filmmaking.

We’ve been visiting the convention since 2011, or perhaps it was 2010. We were there to talk with people very early in the morning, as they waited in line and we passed out over 500 promo cards with a QR code that said, “Are You Chicken?” No one was offended. Every response was positive and some were funny. But this culture is filled with some very cool people and we are glad to be there again this year, on their 50th Anniversary!

In other news, we revamped MFTV!

If you have not yet paid a visit to www.MobileChannel.TV then get going. On your smartphone it works and looks almost like an app and on your desktop it is also visually satisfying. You can sort videos using the Tags or the Menu. MFTV is a Mobile Film Distribution Network Channel. It is exclusive to mobile films which is inspiring. If you are looking for a new way to distribute your mobile film as a filmmaker or a producer, MFTV may be your solution.

International Mobile Film Festival is open for submissions!

IMFF 2020 is open for your films! We look forward to your feature length films (40-90min.) and short films (1-5min.). Deadline for features is October 19 and shorts November 19, this year.

Remember to read all the rules before you submit your film. FilmFreeway is the only platform we allow for film submissions because it works out great for filmmakers and us for selecting films and the judging panel. They have the largest membership of all platforms and they have a good reputation with filmmakers.

Updates to Global Mobile Film Awards for Individual Filmmakers winning awards in any film festival with their mobile films!

Won an award at Sundance with a film shot with a smartphone? Perhaps your local traditional film festival? Or maybe you found a film festival with a category for mobile films? We have good news for you!

Global Mobile Film Awards™ has been referenced as the “Oscars” of the mobile film industry. The Awards Ceremony is only for films which have already won awards in film festivals. If your film won an award in any film festival (mobile film festival or traditional film festival) and it was shot with a smartphone, then you can submit your film to request a nomination. If your film is nominated, it will remain as a nomination for a Best Of award year after year. Films will be selected in December for a Best Of award.

If you win an award with a member film festival then you may ask them to nominate you directly and your submission fee is waived. If you are a film festival and would like to be a member to nominate mobile films that win in your film festival then become a member. We are currently offering special pricing to new members.

We hope you enjoy the summer season and remember to keep making films using smartphones. You never know (until you try) if your film could be the next “most talked about” mobile film getting lots of exposure to help you realize your dream!
