If you are a storyteller and content creator, you already know video and film are the winning platform with the biggest reach. Since launching the International Mobile Film Festival in 2009, it has taken almost ten years for people to take notice at the power of mobile phone cameras in the quest to enter the film and video industries. Our film festival was a film festival determined to prove films shot with the phone that fits in your pocket could make great films worthy of a big screen.
Of course, that also means it is good enough for the journalsm and media industry including business and marketing industries as well. So what is keeping you from using your smartphone's camera to create films, videos and social media content? You most likely will not say that you need to purchase one because most everyone in the world has a smartphone. Does the tech involved keep you away? Are you intimidated? Do you feel like it's a lot of work? Are you hearing that you need this app or that gear and it's confusing you?
Perhaps you are not aware of the power that creating videos and films gives your story and your message. Whatever the reasons are we are inviting you to come and see for yourself. Get your hands on some of the tools. Watch some inspiring films shot with smartphones. Meet people who are part of the #MobilizeStories community in San Diego on September 19 at 7PM and have some fun, learn a bit and connect with others.
Founder of the International Mobile Film Festival based in San Diego, Susy Botello, will present an exciting opening to the Connect & Meet Up San Diego Mobile Filmmaking event by #MobilizeStories. Then she will introduce you to some of the community members and a few opportunities on how you can benefit and be a part of it.
The second part of the event is a mixer at a restaurant and bar where a space is reserved to mingle in a relaxed and festive setting. We begin at 8PM and it's for ages 21 & Up.
This event is free with RSVP and space is limited. You can RSVP using this form. Get all the details on the MobilizeStories Website. Also join the Facebook Event to stay updated with details and announcements.
The location is at Co-mmunity Cowork with the entrance on Cleveland Avenue.
